VINYL / SLEEVE DESCRIPTIONS:

Grading classifications are an absolute minefield and subject to constant debate. I have therefore decided to classify recordings, according to my own straightforward, unequivocal specification.

Some of the recordings I am listing will be more than 60 years old. The nature of vinyl is that, regardless of the love and care with which it is treated, it will pick up flaws (be it invisible dust or deep scratches)

·         EVERY recording listed will have been cleaned and examined under direct, strong light.

·         Being (first & foremost) a collector myself, I endeavour to be as honest as possible.

·         All records will be tested, to ensure the overall sound-quality is acceptable.

·         All visible marks will be sound-checked for audibility.

If you are not prepared to accept these gradings, then please do not bid ?

Please also remember by unequivocal guarantee of 100% refund on any item (very rarely) found to be inaccurately described !

Gradings as follows:

GRADING

VINYL

SLEEVE

Near Mint

No visible surface marks, other than a possible faint surface (paper) scuff. Sound quality should effectively be flawless, other than occasional lights ‘tics’ & ‘pops’ from invisible dust particles

Front & rear faces should be unmarked, no seam splits and no writing.

Excellent

There will be some visible surface marks. These will consist of paper scuffs, light surface scratches but none of them will be audible. All deeper surface marks will be sound-checked and (if audible) timed. No surface mark will be detectable by touch.

Although starting to show some of it’s age, sleeve will be intact, with minor wear to seams and face. There may be some writing on the rear, which will be mentioned in the listing.

Very Good

Record starting to show its’ age. Clear, visible marks and smudges, some of them detectable to touch. There will be marks that are clearly audible, some recurring. Again, these will be timed and detailed on the listing. This level will still produce a recording that offers good quality sound reproduction, but with disruption from the inevitable ageing process. I will NOT list any recording below this grading.

Likewise – starting to show clear signs of ageing. Evidence of removed stickers, writing, seam splits and light tears.

Good

N/a

Clear tears and splits – possible missing sections - age-staining on rear – (photograph will show condition)

PAYMENT TO BE COMPLETED WITHIN 5 DAYS OF COMPLETION OF AUCTION, PLEASE.

PLEASE NOTE – PAYPAL ONLY FOR ALL PURCHASES OUTSIDE THE U.K.

I offer a full and unconditional refund on items that are not as described. Refund will be issued on safe return of recording. Please communicate with me, rather than simply leaving a negative feedback ?!

All records will be sent in new professional, bespoke transport sleeves. Collections and larger box-sets will be sent in a cruciform sleeve.

Any item selling for more than GB£25.00 will have additional insurance added, at buyer’s expense.
