HOKUS POKE Earth Harmony LP on Vertigo Swirl label from 1972 (6360 064).
You are bidding for an original UK pressing of one of the most difficult records to find on the highly collectable Vertigo swirl label by Hokus Poke.
Hokus Poke were a four piece active on the London scene back in the early 1970’s where history has recorded that they had a residency at the Thomas Beckett pub on Old Kent Road. Earth Harmony was their only release which was poorly received at the time, selling very few, resulting in this being one of the most difficult swirls to find and copies are rarely offered for sale.
The band can be described as electric blues based progressive with a twin guitar sound - I've seen references elsewhere suggesting a Wishbone Ash / Little Feat Influence.

This is the best copy I managed to find in the early 1990's (yes those pre-internet days) when I was eagerly building my Vertigo Swirl collection through fairs and record shops. The vinyl is really nice, but the cover has more wear than I would have liked, but when this turns up it always seems to have wear due to the soft card used for the die cut sleeve.
So this copy has been in my personal collection for over 20 years, during which time it has been carefully stored and played only a handful of times – A genuine original, which has given me much enjoyment but now due to a need to thin out some of the collection I can offer it for someone else to hopefully treasure for another 20 years.
Visually the vinyl is in nice condition, there are a few light marks and paper scuff when viewed in the right light but nothing serious. Audibly there is a very light click for the first 8 revolutions of side 2, some light background noise during the run in / out and between tracks if you are listening hard and the occasional click or pop, but overall this copy plays great (and I have listened to it intently whilst preparing this listing), so due to the light scratch I will downgrade from a straight Ex to Ex-.
The die cut sleeve has no tears or serious damage. It has evidence of ring wear both front and back and within the opened gatefold, it also has wear to the corners and edges – as already mentioned few copies appear to have survived the last 40 years if anything approaching mint condition. The spine has quite significant wear and creasing (my guess is this copy languished in the bargain racks for some time before being sold). Overall then probably no better than Vg-, but hopefully the photos included with the listing will give serious buyers a true impression of the condition of this sleeve.
The package is completed by the original Vertigo inner sleeve.
Overall then a nice copy of this super rare Vertigo Swirl LP by Hokus Poke graded as Ex-/Vg-/Ex (vinyl / sleeve / inner sleeve)
