THE HOLLIES: "Russian Roulette" (´76 / very rare orig. (Dutch-) German "Club-Selektion" RECORD CLUB EP / POLYDOR 2835 042 / incl.: 48 Parole / Lady Of The Night / Louise / presumably this is an "export version" (or from the German point of view: import version!), as there are 4 notable differences to usual German issues: 1) flipback sleeve 2) solid center (generally German issues don´t have any centers at all! 99% of all German pressings were mfd. with large middle holes, and the centers were only "temporary" and easily removable) 3) "Stemra" imprint (this is the "copyright sign" used on Dutch records, German issues should have a "Gema" imprint in this place! 4) anyway this "old" red label isn´t the "correct" label, which should have been used for a German pressing of the time (those "old" red labels were used up until ca. 1972, later German pressings had either red-orange plastic labels or red-brown plastic labels - there are slight colour differences, but all later pressings did have plastic labels, while this is a paper label, as it was still used in Holland at the time!) / to further confuse things: the text on the labels´ rims is in English(!), while the text on the back sleeve is in German language / even though any precise informations are missing (there´s neither a "made in Germany" nor a "made in Holland" imprint anywhere!), it must be as following: the record was manufactured in Holland, but most likely it wasn´t sold in Holland - almost certainly all copies were exported to Germany and the record was only available via a German Record Club / anyway this EP is quite rare, because a) EP´s were generally a kind of "unusual" format in Germany and b) Record Clubs usually only had LP´s on offer, but neither EP´s nor singles, and Record Club issues were never made in large quantities / the record plays at 33 1/3 rpm / ...and the last "strange" fact: the label is absolutely "over-sized": (I don´t have a clue, why this label is so big, but) it must be at least 15%, if not 20% larger than a "usual" 7" label, making it one of the largest labels you will ever have seen on a 7" record!)

DESCRIPTION:
small writing on the top of the back sleeve / there are two overpainted abrasions on the left side at the top of the front p/s and one overpainted abrasion on the right side at the top of the front p/s (in the region around the "Polydor" logo) / apart from these abrasions the p/s is in very nice condition: the sleeve corners are slightly bent , but even on the "sensible" white backside the p/s has only a light to very light ringwear / the vinyl has a few light hairlines on the surface, but there are no deeper "bad" scratches (overall the record is in somewhat better condition than the p/s!) / the labels are cleanWHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
