Rare vintage 45 rpm private novelty rock: THE HOLLYWOOD HILLBILLYS - MODERN GLADIATORS (A Song About Wrestling) b/w PUT THE HEARSE IN REVERSE - Rancho Azusa Productions, RAP 002. Released in 1985. A funny song about WWF Wrestling becoming available on syndicated TV; it names many wrestlers and has a call-out to pop singer Cyndi Lauper, who had several videos featuring WWF wrestlers in 1984 & 1985, and appeared in several of the WWF's "Rock n Wrestling Connection" events. The B-side is song about drinking and driving, with kind of a maudlin low-tempo surf guitar sound and dark-comedy approach to the subject. These tracks might have been performed by Los Angeles County radio DJs. You can listen to the A-side on my Youtube channel "Ham Randy". A very rare 45!

Condition: EX (minimal scuffing and a few short, soft scratches to the B-side; both sides play through and sound EX; labels have some minor rubbing with ink mark to A-side and small scar to B-side).
