HOMBRE 5 Wanted Hombres Vinyl LP DEROY pressed DER 1384 1977 West Coast Sound
Heres a pretty rare album from West Devon Band HOMBRE
who were Tony Way ( Bass /vocals) Ex FROZEN TEAR
Mike Pawley (Guitar/vocals)
Bob Stone (Acoustic Guitar)
Trevor Meen (Mandolin /Vocals)
Al Drew (Drums/percussion)
pressed by the increasingly collectible DEROY label ( see this month's Record Collector magazine for an in depth article on this fascinating label)
There were 254 copies pressed so this is a pretty elusive LP now as you can imagine ,
But more significantly it is a very fine album of self penned material
The production values are very high and in my view it easily stands comparison with major label issues .

12 Quality tracks Including "Better Days" a lovely pastoral track which reminded me of the Heron Lps on Dawn ,
The Beatlesque ' Alright by me" A Hall of Funny Mirrors , which was issued as a single in very tiny numbers , has a West coast ,
classic Eagles type vibe ,while The Bells of London is underscored by evocative Pink Floyd like sound effects ...
Mentioned in the Hans Pookra Record collectors Dream 6001 Book .
This LP is not too well known which is a shame as it deserves a much wider audience >>>
CONDITION
Sleeve - EXCELLENT ( A few very light signs of age on rear sleeve near opening edge bottom left corner ( see Photo 2) complete with Original Insert also EXCELLENT
Vinyl - VERY CLOSE TO EXCELLENT on side one there is one very light surface mark across the first three tracks which was inaudible on my deck ( Goldring Lencko)
You will be pleased to learn there is no reserve and a lowish starting price !
