Description

LOW STOKES AND HIS NORTH GEORGIANS whup up a couple of good'uns: "HOME BREW RAG" and "UNEXPLAINED BLUES." Their ragtime and blues are deeply influenced by their Negro Neighbors, showing that music transcends ALL boundaries! 


This original 1927 "Hillbilly" Columbia 15241-D is in V+ condition. Edge chip, not affecting sound. Plays better than it looks! 


PHOTO: Low Stokes (l) and Clayton McMichen, (r) the gentleman in the middle is Columbia A&R man and field trip honcho, Frank Walker. His contribution to recorded blues and hillbilly performances is immense! He fostered the careers of Low Stokes, Gid Tanner, Bessie Smith and Peg Leg Howell, among scores of '20s performers! A statue should be raised to Frank Walker!

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing!  My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value.  I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all.  If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will!  Shipping is done with expert care.
