This is the 1960, first edition, “RVG” stamped, Deep Groove, “P” pressing of HORACE PARLAN’s “Movin’ & Groovin’” on the "47 West 63rd” labels of Blue Note BLP 4028. Musicians include Horace Parlan – piano, Sam Jones – bass, Al Harewood – drums.
VINYL plays with consistent LOUD surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with pops and ticks. Ensemble sections are dynamic and strong. No skips. Good gloss. LOUD surface noise. Many hairline marks, handful feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The Deep Groove “47 West 63rd” labels are clean, wear, spindle marks. Original inner sleeve included. See photos.
LAMINATED COVER is in good shape. Fading. Corners worn. Top seam shows cracking and beginning to split. Spine good at artist and title, cracking at bottom. Lower seam good, cracking at middle and end. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS, INC., 43 West 61st St., New York 23, N.Y.” back jacket shows minor wear. Please see photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER. Record photographed before final clean/rinse.
