Description
HORACE SILVER “Blowin’ The Blues Away” Blue Note RVG, Dg, P, LAM, BLP 4017 Mono Vinyl
This is 1959, first edition, “RVG” stamped, Deep Groove, Laminated Cover, “P” pressing of HORACE SILVER’s “Blowin’ The Blues Away”” on the "47 West 63rd” labels of Blue Note BLP 4017. Musicians include Horace Silver – piano, Blue Mitchell – trumpet, Junior Cook - tenor saxophone, Gene Taylor – bass, Louis Hayes - drums.
VINYL plays with very light surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with occasional pops and ticks (some repeating; Side 1, #2 into #3). But ensemble sections are very clear, dynamic and strong with clean transients, and full tone. No distortion. Very good gloss. Handful of hairline marks, 2 or 3 feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The Deep Groove “47 West 63rd” labels are clean, some spindle wear. See photos.
LAMINATED COVER is in very good shape. Large wrinkle on lower right corner. No peeling. Corners worn. Spine nearly perfect, both seams show 2” splits. See photos. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 47 West 63rd St., New York 23”bBack jacket shows some wear. Please see photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
