Description
Artist: HORACE SILVER QUINTET
Title: “Horace-Scope”
Label: BLUE NOTE, Catalog number is BLP 4042. Label is blue/white with blue text. Mono pressing, pressed on medium thick vinyl, does not have deep groove.
Label address is “BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC * 47 WEST 63rd * NYC” on both sides with deep groove on both sides. Has “R” registry symbol beneath the E in BLUE NOTE. “RVG” is machine stamped in runout area, along with “ear” symbol. Matrix number is hand-etched.
Jacket states “ For complete catalog write to BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61st Street, New York 23, N. Y.”
Year: 1960
Personnel:
Blue Mitchell, trumpet; Junior Cook, tenor sax; Horace Silver, piano; Gene Taylor, bass; Roy Brooks, drums.
Condition:
DISC: Nice VG+ to VG++ with nearly 100% of original gloss. Fidelity is excellent. A few minor hairline scuffs but no serious marks, a very nice playing copy.
JACKET: VG with a number of obvious flaws. Bottom seam is split. There is a small narrow moisture stain along the bottom seam. Heavy wear at corners. Small gash on bottom seam visible from front (see scan). Reverse is free of any writing, stickers, or other problems. Not a perfect jacket by any means, but still probably satisfactory for most collectors considering the fine playing quality of the disc.
