Description
On offer is the original issue of a 1973 LP by HORSLIPS called HAPPY TO MEET… SORRY TO PART on OATS, catalogue number MOO 3.
Later albums were more conventionally rock (The Tain) or melodic (Aliens), but Horslips' debut is the wildest: a heady brew of psychedelia and folk-tinged balladry, with a penchant for free-form freak-outs, all inspired by Irish legend. It is also dressed in an eye-catching gatefold octagonal sleeve.
The record is in excellent condition with a bright sheen, no scratches and no sticking. There are one or two pops that a careful cleaning should clear. It obviously hasn't been played much in the past forty years. The gatefold octagonal sleeve is in excellent condition, with no splits, though minor signs of wear (a few horizontal marks). It contains an 8-page booklet with shots of the band: again, excellent condition, although a slight curl to the pages at one side suggests that it has been stored on its side. The black inner sleeve, also of octagon design, has no splits and is in excellent condition. The labels are similarly excellent, with no discernible spindle wear. All the writing is clearly legible on the spine.
It's a record anyone would be happy to meet and sorry to part with.
To be shipped in the STRONGEST 625 MICRON BEST 12” BROWN BOARD MAILER COMPLETE WITH 2 STIFFENERS and high-grade plastic sleeve.
