Here's a rarity: in the first of only two record dates, noted 1920s New York area African American pianist and arranger Charles A. Matson and his Creole Serenaders romp "Tain't Nobody's BizNiess If I Do" on the "Left" side of Edison Diamond Disc 51222, recorded in New York on 30. July, 1923. This is a great hot band, but the instrumentation is unknown. On the reverse, the Broadway Dance Orchestra does a hot, zany version of "I Love Me". This Edison disc is a visual glossy E to E+ that plays fantastic with the astounding fidelity and clarity that made the Edison system the Cadillac of the recorded sound world.
