HOT ROD MUSIC ON CAPITOL, ORIG 1963 US PROMO ONLY LP, BEACH BOYS/DICK DALE, RARE
Hot Rod Music on CapitolPromo only lp featuring The Beach Boys, Dick Dale, Super Stocks, The Cheers, Jimmy Dolan and Hot Rod Rog.
Although this record has has a lot of marks it plays a lot better than it looks. It’s a promotional only LP released by Capital Records in 1963. Although I have graded the vinyl as "good" it actually plays very well with only a few clicks here and there. There’s certainly nothing that spoils your enjoyment of the music, it still sounds great!
See description below.
Side One: Custom Machine - The Beach Boys; Ho-Dad Machine - Dick Dale; Four On The Floor - Super Stocks; Night Rider - Dick Dale; Hot Rod City - Super Stocks; No-Go Showboat - The Beach Boys.
Side Two: The Scavenger - Dick Dale; Our Car Club - The Beach Boys; Black Denim Trousers And Motorcycle Boots - The Cheers; Hot Rod Race - Jimmy Dolan; Little Street Machine - Hot Rod Rog; Cherry, Cherry Coupe - The Beach Boys.
The album is on Capitol Records, PRO 2480/2481. Matrix side one: PRO-2480-H1 (written). Matrix side two: PRO-2481-H1 (written).
Released in 1963. USA pressing. Mono.
See photos for more info.
Condition: (as Record Collector’s grading system)
Vinyl side 1: good (has quite a few noticeable marks bit plays better than it looks with only a few clicks here and there and certainly nothing that spoils your enjoyment of the music, it still sounds great, plays with no distortion, groove-wear, sticks or skips).
Vinyl side 2: good (has quite a few noticeable marks bit plays better than it looks with only a few clicks here and there and certainly nothing that spoils your enjoyment of the music, it still sounds great, plays with no distortion, groove-wear, sticks or skips).
Cover (matt, paste-on front): good (top edge repaired with sellotape on the inside, writing on back, light aging mainly on back).
I have tried to give my honest opinion as to the condition. I will give a complete refund to the buyer if they are not happy with the record.
Any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler. Payment strictly by PayPal only. Postal discounts available for multiple purchases - Please email for details. 859 (GS 7.0.21 (859))
