Description

Hot Wacks Book-Rare early second edition from 1976 in near perfect condition.Apart from the spine coming away for about 1cm.on the top the rest is as new with the inside pages looking as if they have never been opened till now.

The Hot Wacks guides used to be a reference bible covering all underground/bootleg releases on vinyl.An A to Z group by group and label by label covering the industry that in rock terms started to appear in the late 1960s plus some discussion and news.There were also a series of magazines during the mid to late 1970s that supplemented the books- the books carried on into the early 1990s and got thicker and thicker and stopped around Volumes 15 to 20.This was a very useful reference though being of USA/Canada origin it missed a lot of the really early European and Japanese issues and its quality ratings were often all over the place-otherwise great and these early issues are very hard to find now-especially so clean.Also showing a no.of pictures with the early William Stout/TMOQ covers.By this second edition already the Beatles,Rolling Stones,Bob Dylan had 20 pages each of titles/pictures to themselves whilst later starters like The Who,Led Zeppelin,Bruce Springsteen were already showing 5 or 6 pages of content.

Although each edition of the book built very much on the last one with new additions there were always parts exclusive to each edition and each one is collectible in its own right.
