OH THAT VOICE!!! The greatest voice that all but created Rock with his growling, and screaming. His later records like this one is every bit as good, maybe better, than his early LPs that are so coveted and rare. This would be the Wolf's final LP during his lifetime. He's backed here by his touring band of the time: Hubert Sumlin guitar, Detroit Junior, Chico Chism, and Shorty Gilbert. Here's a US 1973 STEREO FIRST PRESSING of HOWLIN' WOLF'S LP THE BACK DOOR WOLF on CHESS RECORDS (There were no mono pressings). A very cool electric blues LP. One of his many badass LP's. This one is a 1973 US PRESSING. This is a beautiful SUPER CLEAN MINT VINYL. The LP plays perfectly-- MINT. The labels are clean as is the Vinyl. The cover is in great shape, but with soft or slightly dented corners, and on corner cut out. The seams and spine also show wear. -- VG+ COVER. A great play, classic WOLF. His last recorded LP, and despite his declining health, he's at the top of his game.
First pressings were on the orange & blue label, with "manufactured by GRT Corporation" at bottom of label.

The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.M - = (MINT MINUS) MINT- is not MINT but is very close to it, near new, there might be a blemish or two, but overall record and jacket are like new or very close to new.EX = (EXCELLENT) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing. VG = (VERY GOOD) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.G = (GOOD) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.F = (FAIR) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
