Description

1958 Chess Records 1434, this is an original mono pressing - NOT a reissue - of the incredibly scarce Howlin Wolf LP "Moanin'In The Moonlight". This pressing has the black Chess labels with the silver print and a "deep groove" on the label. Cover is a solid VG++; there is a 2" bottom middle split, along with about 3 inches of edge wear on top right corner. Back cover has part of an old name sticker from the original owner and a small "3.25" written in pen on the lower right corner. It appears an old piece of tape might have been removed at some point on the top right corner that goes over the seam front to back and has left some old yellowed tape residue that i didn't initially notice. Jacket is still vibrant and handsome and in nice condition. Vinyl is a very clean VG+++/EX. There are no scratches or scuffs, just a few minor hairlines and paper marks on either side. Sound quality is solid throughout, while labels are crisp with no spindle wear. First and probably the last roiginal of this one I have come across, definitely a sweet copy of this seminal blues LP.
