Inspired by the Velvet Underground (especially lead vocalist Bob Pfeifer) and the
angst-ridden post-punk of Joy Division, Human Switchboard debuted in 1977 with an EP
 produced by Pere Ubu's David Thomas. Human Switchboard Live was released
by the band three years later , after which the group released their only LP,
 Who's Landing in My Hangar? After yet another live album, Coffee Break!,
this one consisting of radio broadcasts, the band promptly disintegrated
