Before they became Sparks, Ron and Russell Mael released this quirky and inventive debut under the name Halfnelson—a cult classic that blends glam rock, art pop, and surreal wit. Produced by Todd Rundgren, the album showcases the brothers’ eccentric songwriting and offbeat energy. This original pressing features the rare “half-human, half-mannequin” cover, which was changed when the band was rebranded as Sparks shortly after release.
