Mega-rare 1966 privately issued Swedish lp with radical avant garde music yielding some wonderfully extreme experimental noise from trombones, electric guitar, and organ. The back cover has strange absurdist notes in Swedish and English by each composer. Players include trombonists Folke Rabe, Jan Bark, Runo Ericksson, and Jorgen Johansson (performing as the group Kulturkvartetten), Kjell Norlen on electric guitar, Karl-Erik Welin on the organ realizations, and the string group Frydenkvartetten. Highly recommended, rarely-heard recordings on this obscure avant-classical gem.

Hambraeus was a Swedish composer and organist influenced by Edgard Varese, Anton Webern, and John Cage; he attended the Darmstadt new music courses in the 50s, where he associated with Messiaen, Boulez, Luigi Nono, and Karlheinz Stockhausen, and he worked at the Studio di Fonologia in Milan, one of the first electronic music studios, alongside Cage, Henri Pousseur, Luigi Nono, Andre Boucourechliev, Luciano Berio, and Bruno Maderna. Folke Rabe is a Swedish educator, ethnologist, and composer of instrumental and electronic music encouraging "deep listening" influenced by the work of Pauline Oliveros and La Monte Young; he was also a jazz trombonist and worked at the Swedish Broadcasting Corporation. Back studied under Hilding Rosenberg and was influenced by Anton Webern.

Combine multiple items to save on shipping. Note: I can now offer international buyers the super-cheap M-Bag bulk mail rate for orders of 9 or more lps; to most destinations this starts at 20.00 for surface mail or 31.50 for air for up to 17 lps, a huge per-record savings over standard rates for smaller parcels! Packing - I pack professionally and adequately using new record mailers exclusively from Cameron Packaging (which I have determined are the best and most protective). For used lps, I remove the lp and inserts from the jacket, cover it in a layer of bubble wrap, and then reinforce it with a cardboard insert. All records are shipped with poly plastic sleeves. All packages are completely sealed with strong packing tape covering all openings. If you'd like your package done any differently, just let me know.
