Description

Hampton Grease Band Music to Eat 2 LP record on the Columbia label in super strong VG+ condition up for sale. This is an interesting release that according to legend was the record with the second least sales ever on the Columbia label. This record covers a lot of styles. If you are familiar with the first 3 Mothers of Invention albums or with Captain Beefheart's Trout Mask Replica, this kinda falls in line with that style, however without the genius of Frank Zappa at the helm. It is an interesting listen, and one which was only pressed once I assume due to the legend. I truly believe  the legend to be true, where this record was only undersold by a workout record on the Columbia label. Bruce Hampton went onto much greater success with the Aquarium Rescue Unit in the 1990's with a cast of future members of the Allman brothers band and other Jam Band legends.
