Description

Hampton Hawes!!!! with Barney Kessel, Shelly Manne & Red Mitchell "Four!" 1959 Contemporary Records C3553 mono.  OK kids, this is a first rate copy of an amazing album.  These great players are completely in the groove here and the studio produced an incredibly fine and present-sounding recording.  Sleeve is very nice, with only the slightest discoloration here and there, but there are sample stamps front and back and also on the labels (see photos), light damage on the edges, still a strong Very Good plus (VG+) sleeve.  Vinyl is better.  Under a strong light you can make out some light scuff on Side A, but side B is completely clean.  None of it is adversely affecting playback, which is nearly perfect (I heard one pop on each side, you can play Where's Waldo to find them), I'll say this record deserves an Excellent (EX) rating.  This is the vinyl experience we all keep hoping to find.  Just cleaned with a VPI wet-vac system.  I'll pay the shipping via USPS Media Mail.
