Description
This right here has been a centerpiece in my record collection for over 20 years. It is a top 10 LP of all time for me and definitely the best record I discovered during my 5 years digging in Eastern Europe 1998-2003. I am talking about Hana a Petr Ulrychovi's Odyssea with Atlantis and The Gustav Brom Orchestra. Recorded in November-December 1969 it's subsequent release was blocked by the communist regime. According to the Encyclopedia of Czech Big Beat Music Odyssea album covers were produced at the time but that is as far as this project got. I can confirm this having seen a copy of the original cover in a private collection over there.
So what I'm offering here is the first [and only vinyl] release of Odyssea in 1990. Released by Supraphon #10 0687-1 it was part of their "Trezor" [Vault] series post Velvet Revolution. They wasted no time diving into the archives to make these available. But they were limited pressings to a small, niche' market. Today they are scarce.
Here is an endgame copy for you. The cover is Near Mint. No flaws whatsoever. The vinyl is NM visually and the labels have no spindle marks at all. I professionally cleaned this LP and play graded it in it's entirety with a Audio-Technica AT150Mlx cart. It play grades NM- with only an occasional light tic. I evaluate with headphones btw. Intros on both sides quiet. Absolutely no outer groove wear. It probably wasn't played much.
This is about the best copy you will ever hope to find. If you don't know this record check the samples uploaded on various Youtube channels. It is truly a masterpiece of the highest order!
