Most people kno w Hanadensha from their “Astral Pygmy” later period and rave about it. Well, believe me, that period of the band sucks big time, in fact they weren’t Hanadensha anymore when they degraded to that level of disco-indy-fake-psych rock. If you wanna know what Hanadensha really sounds like, well look no further, ‘cause this it. The band’s first ever record, released by Alchemy records in 1988. The original line-up of the band, which consisted out of Hira (of Boredoms) on demented, Damo Suzuki on speed infested power-trip vocals, all round heavy psychedelic guitar slasher Noma (who left the band hereafter. Sad because his sound is over the top, just great and one of the Kansai-scene forgotten guitar heroes), Tatekawa on bass and Aoyagi on drums. This is heavy, real heavy trashy psychedelic rock, like Black Flag crossbreeding with Can and MC5 on LSD and steroids. One of the best psyched up records of that time. Highest recommendation and utterly rare and overlooked. A killer all way round and like the title suggests Heave Blood indeed. For lovers of High Rise and the likes…
