The Seller is the Original Owner and received this LP as a promotional copy from the label at the time of its release. 

Recorded live February 19th & 20th 1977 at The Village Vanguard, NYC.  Recorded for the Japanese East Wind label, and first released in 1977 on Nippon Phonogram (Japan).  

For sale here is the first U.S. pressing, released in 1978.

The album is still sealed in its original shrink wrap. The vinyl disc has never been taken from its sleeve and has never been played. It is assumed to be in NM to Mint condition.

The cover is in excellent condition.  It has a light crease and a clipped upper right corner, otherwise it is flat and in great shape.

(Wikipedia Excerpts)  The Great Jazz Trio at the Village Vanguard is a live album by the Great Jazz Trio. The Great Jazz Trio is pianist Hank Jones, bassist Ron Carter, and drummer Tony Williams.

Allmusic awarded the album 4½ stars, stating: "No matter which edition one hears of the Great Jazz Trio, leader Hank Jones can be counted upon to deliver the goods. ...On this occasion, Jones is ably accompanied by Ron Carter and Tony Williams, so it is no surprise the fireworks begin right away."

On All About Jazz John Kelman noted: "Perhaps it's because, with their shared background as members of Miles Davis' landmark quintet of the mid-'60s, Carter and Williams were able to approach this more mainstream affair with just the right combination of unabashed swing and freer interpretation."

The Seller was in the retail record business in the 1970's-1980's and acquired a collection of 2500+ albums from that era, which is now being sold on Ebay. Most have never (or seldom) been played. Many are white label promos, first pressings, and often factory sealed. The collection has been securely boxed and stored in a smoke free environment since 1983, 40 years!  If you like what you see, please check back occasionally to see my new listings.

Grading methodology is as follows:

M (MINT) - Album is brand new, sealed, and has never been played.

NM (NEAR MINT) - Vinyl looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap. LP cover may have some light rub marks.

VG+ (VERY GOOD PLUS) - Vinyl may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned corners, or a slight seam split. May have slight signs of wear also may be marred by a cut out hole, sawcut, or cut corner indicating it is a promotional copy.

VG (VERY GOOD) - Vinyl has light wear, scratches, or scuffs. Covers may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached, etc.

Seller ships domestically within the United States via United States Post Office Media Mail with tracking. This is the most economical option. Seller will insure packages valued above $30. Insurance does not cover missing packages after they have been delivered to the buyer's address, only damage or loss during shipping. Warping could accur if vinyl records are exposed to heat and direct sunlight, so please make adequate arrangements to safely receive your packages.  If Buyer prefers a faster shipping service, please contact the Seller before completing the transaction to discuss options such as Priority Mail. Per USPS, Priority Mail packages are delivered in 1-3 days.
