HANK MOBLEY A CADDY FOR DADDY Blue Note BST 84230
Up for auction is a U.S. Blue Note NY (Liberty) Stereo press (1967) of Hank Mobley's classic hard-bop sextet lp, "A Caddy For Daddy". Four Mobley originals and Wayne Shorter's "Venus Di Mildew". A great late hard bop session from an all-star sextet including Lee Morgan, Curtis Fuller and McCoy Tyner. One of Blue Note's finest later hard bop releases. This lp was never pressed as a Plastylite lp. All original copies are Liberty pressings. Early copies have NY labels. This one has Liberty labels, and is just a fantastic player.
DEAD WAX INFO: Side 1 has BNST - 84230 A etched into the dead wax. Side 2 has BNST - 84230 A etched into the dead wax. Both sides have VAN GELDER stamped into the dead wax. OG 1967 Blue Note Liberty Stereo pressing. VINYL VISUAL: VG+ and better on this pressing with storage mottling and minor marks. A cleaning may elevate grade. Labels show moderate play.
VINYL PLAY GRADE: VG+ and much much better on this OG Stereo with FANTASTIC fidelity and very little noise level. Tough to beat. Cleaning should elevate grade.
COVER VISUAL: VG+ at best with few issues, including general wear, catalogue sticker front left bottom, and slight musty smell. A pretty decent example.
COMES WITH OG PRINTED LIBERTY PAPER INNER, which I have lined with an Audiophile rice plastic inner.

Play grade is done on a Thorens TD 165 through Yamaha amplification and JBL reference headphones (treble set high so there will be no surprises when you get the item).
ALL ITEMS WILL BE SHIPPED WITH PROPER MAILERS AND EXTRA PADDING, PARTICULARLY AT THE CORNERS. I HAVE MADE FAR TOO MANY PURCHASES ON EBAY WHERE THE ITEM HAS ARRIVED WITH DINGED CORNERS DUE TO INADEQUATE PACKAGING MATERIAL. BY USING FOLDED BUBBLE WRAP IN ALL FOUR CORNERS, YOU CAN BE ASSURED OF AN ITEM WITHOUT DINGED CORNERS (OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND FOR THAT MATTER). Non-tracked shipping throughout the U.S.A will be $13 CANADIAN per item, as will tracked shipping within Canada. Tracked shipping to the U.S.A. will be $16 CANADIAN for items under 500g, and slightly more for items over 500g. Most single sleeve items can be shipped as under 500g. Gatefolds and multi-sets will be over 500g.
Being a reasonable person, I will be absorbing ALL of the shipping material cost, and some of the actual postage cost.

I do offer full refunds (excluding cost to get it back to me), on any item that is not satisfactory. SINCE SHIPPING OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE (Thank You Canada Post), I will rarely list gatefolds or multi-items for sale overseas. IF ANYONE OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS CRAZY INTERESTED IN ANY ITEM, I WILL QUOTE SHIPPING ON REQUEST. Since a lot of the stuff that I will be selling is of higher end quality, rarely will things be offered overseas. Sorry folks. Again, I can consider requests on an item-by-item basis.
