Hanna Barbara Records Drop-Ins Cartoon Sound Effects SFX 1965 Limited Edition Released in 1965, and distributed only to DJs and Radio Stations for Broadcast Purposes only, never intended for sale. Limited to 1000 pressings.
Some of you might recall that back in the mid-1960s, Hanna-Barbera Productions started their own short-lived record label to cash in on the recording trend. In addition to albums and singles of their cartoon songs and other recording artists, they also had the "Cartoon Series" LPs; which would feature a story with popular H-B cartoon characters, also including a few songs (sometimes made just for the record).
To help promote this new record label and the "Cartoon Series" albums, Hanna-Barbera offered this record to radio stations. One side contained several of their famous sound effects, the other containing various clips (dialogue bits and sound effects) from some of their "Cartoon Series" releases. It was never sold to the public, and only 1,000 were issued (my copy is number 750.)  I think there were supposed to be more, judging by the "Volume 1," but this is the only one offered, to my knowledge.
The first side features an introduction by that classic Emmy-winning cartoon star Huckleberry Hound explaining the purpose of this record (pretty amusing, actually), and then forty of H-B's sound effects, including some not on the professional 5-disc H-B sound effects library from Sound Ideas.
The other side has additional sound effects, along with a bunch of dialogue clips (some with effects in them too), many of them taken from the above-mentioned "cartoon series" LPs. There are a few sound clips of Fred Flintstone, Magilla Gorilla, Mr. Peebles and Super Snooper (the detective cat).  These dialogue clips were performed by June Foray, Daws Butler, Don Messick, Paul Frees, Bea Benaderet, Alan Melvin, Howard Morris and Alan Reed.
Cover= VG+ (lots of edge wear/chipping and split on top seam at opening.  Front cover is clean. Back cover has some writing.  See photos)
Vinyl= VG (lots of surface marks - nothing deep)
I'm selling my personal collection of 50 years and will be posting many rare and collectible original pressing LPs.
