Description
Sound Plus. Get Out (and Let Me Cry)/ You May Not Love Me. This is an original 7" acetate cut in 1965. The artist designation on the label is "The Blue Notes". They had been active in Philadelphia since the 1950's and would evolve into "Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes" shortly after this acetate was cut. The name "Jimmy Bishop" is written on the label. Jimmy Bishop was very prominent on the Philadelphia Soul scene in the 1960's both as a DJ and with local labels, most notibly Arctic Records. I'm not sure if he wrote his name on the label or it was written and then given to him. In any case, this was certainly his personal copy.
The acetate is in VG minus condition with steady background noise. There are no skips and the music is still clear and distinct. The last 2 photos show the surface condition. No attempt has been made to clean this acetate. Cleaning can improve sound quality but it's not like cleaning a conventional vinyl record. If you choose to clean it do your research or you can ruin it. A sound clip of both sides has been provided. There's a several second gap between songs.

GRADING
Near Mint or Mint Minus - A top copy with the most minimal of wear.
VG++ - Not quite near mint, but a super clean, desirable copy.
VG+ - Shows signs of wear but no significant defects.
VG - Obvious signs of wear but it still has life in it. VG does not mean beat.
VG minus - Moderate to heavy wear. OK if you need a filler copy.
G - Borders on unplayable - don't be be bothered unless it's very rare.
