Description
Harry James recorded “It’s Been a Long, Long Time” on July 24, 1945, with Kitty Kallen singing the vocal. Released just after World War II, the song was written by Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn around the emotion of a serviceman finally coming home. James and Kallen’s recording became a major hit, reaching No. 1 on Billboard and returning to the top spot again in December 1945.
The recording gained an entirely new audience decades later through the Marvel films. It plays in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and, much more memorably, accompanies Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter’s long-awaited dance at the end of Avengers: Endgame. That use was particularly fitting because the song itself was originally associated with reunion and homecoming at the end of World War II.

Visually, I would grade the shellac VG+, retaining strong gloss with scattered light surface and handling marks visible under direct inspection lighting. The strong light used in the photographs makes minor marks considerably more apparent than they appear under normal viewing conditions.
The red Columbia labels remain attractive and highly readable with light age and handling wear.
Comes in the plain heavy paper sleeve shown, which presents very nicely with light age toning and minor edge wear.
NOTE: Please consider that your audio equipment blows mine away and the record will invariably sound better on your system. Also, I do not have the ability to professionally clean records and give one static brush before ONE sampling, then back into the sleeve and jacket. My goal is to give you all you need for a transparent purchasing experience.
