Description
A gorgeous original circa 1945 pressing (distinguished by the three lines of patent info underneath "Columbia" on the label, as opposed to two lines on later pressings) of "It's Been a Long, Long Time" b/w "Autumn Serenade" by Harry James and his Orchestra with vocal chorus by Kitty Kallen on Columbia 36838, recorded July 24, 1945, in New York City. This is an excellent copy of this World War II-era classic, which was recently featured in 'Avengers: Endgame'.
This record grades about EE- by the VJM grading system, with most of its original luster and no significant scratches or scuffing. There is some play wear on "It's Been a Long, Long Time" and a small patch of superficial scratches on "Autumn Serenade" (see photo of that side at about 3 o'clock) that are virtually inaudible on my equipment (they cause a couple of tiny unobtrusive pops at worst). Both sides play great, with only the light surface presence endemic to Columbia pressings of this vintage. Both labels are in flawless condition. This copy should not disappoint! I will be happy to supply audio samples upon request.
Includes an original World War II-era Columbia sleeve (with list of OPA ceiling prices) in good condition with a couple of nicks but tight seams and intact edges.

I pack using the widely accepted as best method, with the disc sandwiched between several squares of corrugated cardboard and "floated" in a sturdy, reinforced 11x11x5 box filled with packing peanuts.
