Description
. ----- Important Note -----
This is a 12" vinyl record, it is not a CD! (Just wanted to make that clear...) ALSO: This is a vintage 20th century pressing from the days of peace, love and Vietnam, it is not one of those recent new-fangled audiophile vinyl remastered versions that sells for way too much money at stores like Urban Outfitters.
Save BIG on Combined Shipping!
Be sure to see my other record, DVD, Blu-ray, CD and book auctions on eBay. Adding any of those items to your package will cost only an additional 50 cents per auction to any United States address, after the item with the highest shipping. (Note that comic books cannot be shipped by Media Mail, so they are not included in this offer.) The more you buy, the more you save!
----- Description of Item -----
Photos above always show the actual item or items that you will get, because I never use "stock photos!" (Excuse any reflections or focus problems!)
My standard disclaimer about vinyl: As with all vinyl records, there will be at least some pops, clicks and other surface noise even on brand new and unplayed records, so do not expect flawlessly pristine CD sound quality. I grade on the following scale: Like New, Very Good (some flaws, nothing major), Good (more noticeable flaws, but still acceptable), Fair (looking pretty bad, but not a total disaster) and Poor (really bad with major defects).
DETAILS ABOUT THIS AUCTION:
This is a rare promo collectible version of the Harry Nilsson album THE POINT! It has a different catalog number, a different label and is pressed on different vinyl than the copy of the regular retail version that I have from those bygone days. (The retail version had an orange label and was pressed on RCA's then-popular flexible vinyl, whereas this promo copy has a black label and is pressed on standard rigid vinyl.) Also, the green color of the margins on the jacket is darker than the green on the retail version.
More info:
RCA Victor catalog number LSPX-1003, Stereo. (What's interesting is that a clear sticker has been affixed over that catalog number at the top left corner of the cover, so that it wraps around the spine, showing yet another different catalog number: AFL 1-2593. See the closeup photos above.) The catalog number of the regular retail version was LSP-4417.
Overall condition: Very Good.
Outer Jacket Record Sleeve: Very Good. What keeps it from grading higher is that it has a 2.5-inch spit at the top right edge, some scuffing and some edge and corner wear. Not a disaster, but those flaws definitely keep it from being "Like New."
Record: Very Good condition with only very minor surface noise, basically looks like new but has a slight warp that keeps it from being perfectly flat. Plays fine.
Booklet: Very Good, nearly Like New condition, only real flaws are some impressions on the back. This is a full color eight-page booklet in comics form. Note that the catalog number on the back blank page at the bottom matches the promo catalog number LSFX-1003. (Be sure that these numbers match if you look at any other copies of this album to buy, because the copy that comes with the retail version has a different number!)
Inner sleeve: Plain white paper sleeve in Like New condition. (I'm not positive that this is the original inner sleeve.)
Another great auction, from a pet-free, smoke-free home!
----- Shipping -----
Flat $3.99 shipping (in sturdy cardboard record mailer) for Media Mail with Delivery Confirmation to any United States address. Add only 50 cents for each additional auction of mine after the first that can be shipped by Media Mail (which includes records, CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays and books, but not comic books).
INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS: eBay adds a substantial premium to the cost of international shipping as part of their Global Shipping service. None of that extra money goes to me. I only get exactly the same shipping amount that a US bidder would pay, and all of the rest goes to eBay. So don't blame me if eBay's shipping prices to other countries seem high, because I have absolutely no control over them! ALSO: eBay's Global Shipping Program is the only method that I use to ship to international bidders. So whatever price eBay's shipping calculator lists is how much shipping will cost you, there are no other alternatives.
