Description
Ultra rare first pressing of Harry Partch’s 1952 composition “Plectra and Percussion Dances”, recorded in Sausalito, California by his Gate 5 ensemble. This is the very first release on Partch’s Gate 5 label, released in an edition of only 300 in late 1953, on green vinyl!
I’m not a record collector, but I can say that for being 70 years old the disc is in good condition. I’ve only played it once or twice as it was a gift from a family friends collection. She didn’t play it much either. The cover has scuffs of course due to its age and storage. The original innersleeve is long gone and has been replaced at some point by a nice white archival innersleeve.
The pen and pencil markings on the back of the sleeve are the composer’s own annotations.
