Description
Up for sale is a brand new 8 LP box set containing all four volumes of Harry Smith's Anthology of American Folk Music.
This set comes from the first edition of 100 and as such it includes the handmade wooden slipcase! This wood box was reserved for those who preordered all 8 records directly from the label, and it sold out immediately.
The original 3 volumes of this anthology were released on Folkways. They have been reissued a few times before, but never with such close attention to detail as this set released by Mississippi records. Plus this set includes the 4th volume, compiled but never released by Harry Smith. It has never before been issued in the same style as the original set.
8 LPs on 200 gram vinyl. Each pair is housed in a thick gatefold jacket with red fabric cover and paste on artwork. You also get booklets with the original liner notes reproduced.
The set will be packaged very securely so that you don't have to worry about damage in transit.
I am a collector myself, so I know the disappointment that follows when I receive a poorly packaged item.
