Harry South Orchestra – The Sweeney theme from Thames TV Series, 1975 7” EMI 2252. RARE PIC COVER

This is a nice example of The Sweeney – (main theme from the Thames TV Series) / The Sweeney – (main theme from the Thames TV Series) by the Harry South Orchestra. It was released on the EMI label in 1975 – EMI 2252 – and is in Near Mint condition. The record itself is in a plain white cover.

But interestingly – it is also inside a ridiculously over-sized thin card gatefold cover. It measures almost 8” x 8” and it has been stored with other singles, and so has some creasing at the edges and corners (and as mall tear at the right edge, although nothing is missing.) The front shows an image that I am told is from the first ever episode of The Sweeney. The back has the name and address of Thames Television. Oddly – there is no other information / text. As a promotional tool for the show it could surely have been more informative?! The cover grades around VG.
