Description
ARTIST: Harry's Happy Four
LABEL: Okeh 8229
TITLES: Swinging The Swing / A St Louis Chant
CONDITION: E+
DESCRIPTION: Terrific Harlem session led by Harry Cooper on cornet along with R. Q. Dickerson on 2nd cornet with a rhythm section of Earres Prince on piano and Charlie Stamps on banjo. Cooper was on the early Moten Okehs, and the Cotton Club Columbias, but moved to Europe in the late 1920s or along with Dickerson and Prince from this session might have ended up as a core member of The Missourians. Seldom do you see these early acoustic Okeh race series items in such immaculate dealer's stock like condition.
