HARVEY MILK "self titled" 2xLP TEST PRESS on Hydra Head Records, 2010
Numbered 8 out of 30. Dated 09/08/09
This TEST PRESS is for the retail version of HARVEY MILK's "self titled" 2xLP. This version differs from the tour edition, as the vinyl was recut when the official retail version was released. You can tell the difference because this version has Rainbo Records Test Press labels, while the tour version test press has the tour version labels (the tour version is also housed in a HHR test press jacket with burgundy ink, while the retail version has silver ink; and both are dated differently).
This release was technically Harvey Milk's first album, recorded in 1994 by Bob Weston. After completing the sessions, the band turned the master tapes over to the head of the label that planned on releasing it. However, that person never contacted the band again. Bootleg copies of the recording later circulated as "The Bob Weston Sessions". The album was finally mastered in 2008 from a cassette copy that the band had. It was first issued by Hydra Head Recordings only on vinyl and limited to 300 copies which were sold by the band while on tour in the fall of 2009. In early 2010, a CD version (with different artwork than the initial vinyl pressing) was released by Hydra Head. A new vinyl edition was released by Hydra Head in November of 2010. This version has the same artwork as the CD and is available on 3 different colors of vinyl: Aqua, Black Cherry, and Black.
