MEGA RARE ORIGINAL PRIVATE PRESSING
Sleeve - EX+ Hand stamped. Slight ringwear and discolouration front and back from general ageing. No creases, and spine and edges are sharp, see photo.
Vinyl - EX contains some light hairline and surface marks. No deterioration in sound quality. Plays through beautifully.
Booklet - EX+ nice clean condition and fully intact, no creases.
This album is a rarity APPARENTLY PRESSED IN APPROX 25 -50 COPIES produced in 1977 by the almost unknown 70s folk/rock band, Havenstreet.
Interestingly the album had been distributed under its own label “Rissole Records” some years before “punk” did the same.
All the tracks are original material, written by mainly three of the band members: Jeff Vinter, Phil Ridgway & Francis Bassett.
The music has been described as being influenced by artists as diverse as Caravan to Peter Hammill (Van Der Graaf Generator) and has a line up including keyboards, saxophone, flute and violin as well as acoustic guitar, bass and percussion. Using this instrumentation, the band creates a sound that sits between contemporary “folk” and, at times, dreamlike, thoughtful progressive rock with literate, poetic lyrics.
IT IS A TRUE MASTERPIECE !!!
