After ejecting original vocalist/bassist Gary St. Pierre, Marty Friedman's Hawaii broke in their expanded four-piece lineup via 1984's Loud Wild and Heavy EP, which achieved immediately positive results in terms of both sound and songwriting quality. Less polished than most L.A.-based hair metal, but not quite frenetic enough for thrash, standout tracks like "Bad Boys of Metal" and "Escape the Night" (reworked from the band's under-whelming debut album) recalled first-EP-era Ratt or perhaps New Wave of British Heavy Metal maniacs Raven, with their equal doses of good hooks and raucous head-banging. Meanwhile, the lengthy instrumental "Rhapsody in Black" served as a showcase for Friedman's startling abilities, and helped make this possibly the band's strongest effort ever.

Goldmine grading standard, expanded

cover / record - All records are cleaned and graded under bright lights.

SS still sealed

NM near mint. cover and record looks like new.

EX Record looks almost like new.

VG+++ Cover may show light wear but still looks very nice / record may have very light surface marks or scuffs which have little or no effect on play. may have a little surface noise but should sound great. 

VG(+) Better than VG, but not quite VG+ cover will have some wear / record may have surface marks, scuffs, some light surface scratches, some surface noise, but should sound very good.

VG Very Good. cover may have more noticeable wear, seam wear, ring wear, writing or small splits, but is still solid / record may have scratches, signs of wear and some surface noise, but still should sound good.  (  I will list some VG records after playing the complete record, and if it sounds good to me and was an enjoyable listen I will list it   ) 

VG- cover has more wear, may have some splitting / record defects will be more pronounced than VG, may have more and deeper scratches, scuffs, and more surface noise, but still plays OK  Will only list very rare records in this condition or worse.

G cover will have a lot of wear, may be completely split / record is heavily scratched but plays , but might skip or jump.
