Description

Original UK Mad Hatter Charisma label of the first stereo press. This is Hawkwind's sixth UK LP released in August 1976 and the first recorded after Lemmy was sacked and Robert Calvert returned as full time singer and lyricist. The songs were based on science fiction ideas and many of the lyrics were intended to be acted out on stage by Calvert. With the reversed Barney Bubbles cover, the lyric inner and the earliest A-1U B-1U 1-B matrices & 1-1-? 1-1-5 stampers of the first few hundred copies pressed in 1976!
 

The Robert Stace matt sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light corner/edge wear and some very light storage rubbing/creasing on the outer cover. The spine is intact and fully readable, the polylined lyric inner is intact & in EX+ condition.

The record is in visually EX+ condition, with only one or two faint & wispy sleeve removal hairlines on side 2 and a couple of hairlines and one or two light needle scuffs on side 1. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with evidence of one or two very faint spindle markings on each side.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops, hiss or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, with some very brief background noise during the run in grooves and a really great, loud & lively listen.   The matrix nos. are; CDS-4004, A-1U 1B mother stamper 1-1-, B-1U 1B mother stamper 1-1-5. This is one of earliest first few hundred copies of the first pressing of the original UK stereo issue of this classic 1976 album!
