HAWKWIND IN SEARCH OF SPACE United Artists – UAG 29202 1971 1st Press w/ The Hawkwind Log

The cover is clean and completely intact without damage to the cardboard lock on the front. There is a crease on the top left of the front which you should be able to see on 2 of the photos above. There is a little corner wear. I'm going to conservatively grade the cover VG+

The record is a first press, with LIBERTY-UNITED ARTISTS RECORDS LTD on the label and the following matrix stamps in the runout:-

  • Matrix / Runout (Side A stamped): UAG 29202 A-1U
  • Matrix / Runout (Side B stamped): UAG 29202 B-2U
Under a light the vinyl on both sides shows faint brush marks. There are no scratches or jumps but during the quieter moments, for example during the intro to the first track there is audible crackle. I am therefore going to grade it VG/VG+

The Hawkwind Log is complete (24 pages) and clean and undamaged. However several years ago I noticed that the original staples had begun to rust so I removed them. You can see tiny spots in the middle of the centrefold in the photo above. Having no access to a long stapler I've just left it but with a suitable stapler you could easily sort that out.
