Original UK Charisma label stereo press LP.

The ninth studio album by Hawkwind was partly recorded live in October 1977 and later in the studio during January & again in June 1978, but was not released until June 1979. After Simon House quit on their US tour in 1977 and Robert Calvert was hospitalised, the band split leaving their planned eighth album on hold. They reformed in June 1978, but had to call themselves 'Hawklords', due to contractual issues over the band name and released the album '25 Years On' instead. This left them with the remaining tracks from the earlier sessions, which they re-recorded and with over-dubbed live tracks from 1977, this became 'P.X.R.5' in 1979.

This is the original issue with the Charisma Mad Hatter labels, the stickered rear sleeve and the A//1 B//1 matrices & 1-1-12 1-1-11 stampers of the first pressings.   The James Upton Ltd matt sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light corner/edge wear and some light storage rubbing/creasing on the rear cover. The rear safety sticker is inract and in EX condition. The spine is intact and fully readable, with the plain company inner intact & in EX condition.   The record is in visually EX+ condition, with only a couple of faint hairlines visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, undamaged, clean & bright with no evidence of spindle markings on either side.  
The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud crackle or hiss and definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some very brief background noise during the run in grooves. Overall, it is a really great, loud & clear listen.

The matrix nos. are; CDS-4016, A//1-EUT mother stamper 1-1-12, B//1-EUT mother stamper 1-1-11. This is one of the early pressings of the original 1979 UK stereo issue of this album!
