Description
Selling-up my extensive record collection. This is a very nice copy of the legendary Hawkwind album - UK first issue (A1U/B1U matrices) from 1971.
Pictures are my own photos of the item for sale. Photos are part of the description, have a good look.
Cover - Foldout cover with interlock at front. This is just excellent, very surprising for a 1971 copy. If one had to find fault, a tiny bump to one of the points of the interlocking front and a small partial bend to the same point. Top edges just short of perfect, tiny wear to top corners. Tiny bumps to bottom corners. Otherwise, like new. The log book is present, also looks as-new.
Record - looks very nice - close examination shows lightest kind of scratch on track one, and another light, quite long fingernail or stylus scratch on track one. Side 2 has a short scratch on track 3. I decided to play-test the record. Side one has crackles at the start - track one has quite a quiet intro - and crackles are sometimes audible for a while after the band get properly going - then most of the side is fine. On side 2, crackles during quiet start of first track, fading away as music gets louder. On the acoustic track (We Took The Wrong Step), no crackles until at the end, then crackles continue at start of the next track. Track 3 has a once-per-rotation click which is very noticeable, which fades away and comes back several times. When one lists all the little flaws, it makes the record sound like a mess, but in-between the flaws, there are long periods of trouble-free listening. And the audio quality is excellent, sounds just as it should, not worn-out at all.
I have been collecting records for 50 years (when finances allowed!), and now it's time to sell-up. I bought them mostly around local shops (second-hand), but sometimes from e-bay, and sometimes new, for my favourite bands.
When I'm checking for damage on records, I look at them carefully with my reading glasses on, in good daylight. This method detects any bits of damage that will affect what you hear when listening to it - and lots that are not audible. Using a spotlight or direct sunlight shows more surfacey marks sometimes, but I don't do that - records are for listening to, not trying to see your face in.

I don't mail things personally, to countries outside the UK - ( I mean it, don't ask) - but I am happy to use E-Bay UK's Global Shipping Program, for sending things abroad.
Under this scheme, I send the parcel to an e-bay depot in UK, and they forward it to the overseas buyer.
They have a tracked courier service, for the journey from their UK depot, to the buyer.
This means that I can ONLY accept payments through e-bay (Pay Now button), and I can't send invoices. Combined postage may or may not be possible through the Program - if e-bay shows combined postage for their courier job, I'll do combined postage for the transit inside UK. I can't see information about this until you pay.
International buyers should be able to see a postage cost to their country, you may have to input your location, if your country is included in the scheme.

I WILL DEFINITELY NOT post to countries that are not included in the above lists, and I don't send to China.
