Head is a Seattle based street rock band, developing the song structure popularized by the Ramones into a style soon to be adopted by the Riverdales, Lillingtons, and Sack. In a MAXIMUMROCKNROLL interview, Ben Weasel (Foster) credited Head with being an inspiration for the formation of the Riverdales, citing the simplicity and fun of the songs they plated. Kody from the Lillingtons and Teenage Bottlerocket also borrowed some of their sound, and was also frequently seen wearing Head t-shirts at shows.
Displaying a deep sense of bravado and a flair for the absurd, songs like "Am I Fresh" and "Brown Style" are considered classics by Ramonescore aficionados. What a horrible word, by the way. Aficionados. So stupid. Head's releases are notoriously difficult to find, as Evil Clown records did not print or distribute a great number of copies of their albums.
Street Level Assault includes songs later released on a CD version of Head's albums and singles released prior to their most recent album, No Hugging No Learning.
