This is a listing for ”Headless Heroes of the Apocalypse,” the legendary album by performing and producing songwriter Eugene McDaniels (Gene McDaniels.)


Originally released in 1971 on Atlantic Records number SD8281. This item is a rerelease/repressing on Rhino Records, is new/sealed, pressed on 180g vinyl, and in Mint condition.


There's not much I could say about this album in this little space that could convey its massive presence in culture over the past five decades. This album had been released to the public, then summarily recalled via a phone call from Spiro Agnew in Richard Nixon's White House to Ahmet Ertegun, the chairman of Atlantic Records. 


And just like that, this album disappeared for nearly a generation before hip-hop and counterculture activists rediscovered and resonated with its message, music, and weaning.
