Roy Hogsed – “Mean Mean Woman” b/w “Let You Pendulum Swing” (Capitol 1987). Excellent fall of 1952 country bopper / proto-rockabilly sound by the Arkansas born artist who moved to San Diego California and developed a unique sound that pre-saged rockabilly and rock & roll. Although not of major influence on country music, his songs were a definite preview of what is to come. And, Wanda Jackson’s “Mean Mean Man” is surely an answer song while “Let Your Pendulum Swing” truly rocks. Record looks in VG- condition, but plays much better – just listen to both sides.
