Description
Nai Bonet – “Jelly Belly” b/w “Seventh Veil” (Karate 532). Nai Bonet is an Vietnamese belly-dancer, singer and film actress. Born in Saigon to a Vietnamese mother and French father, Bonet began her professional career at age 13, when she headlined as a belly-dancer in a show at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas.[2] She began appearing in films in 1964 (frequently portraying a belly-dancer), as well as in television, commercials, variety shows, her photos adorned several album covers and she continued to appear as a night club headliner. In 1966 she released the novelty song Jelly Belly. The 1966 release features Bonet with back-up group as she sings he dance instructions and about the dance while the flip is a garage psych instrumental of the music – take a listen to a little of each side. DJ copy. Vinyl is in VG+ condition but heavy writing on labels. Sleeve has cheesecake photo of Bonet on one side and instructions diagram on flip (writing on one side of sleeve says, “Rec 10 Aug 66).
