Del Shannon – “Rain Drops” b/w “You Don’t love Me” (Liberty 56070). Shannon was born Charles Weedon Westover in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He grew up in Coopersville, a small town near Grand Rapids. In 1961 his first record, “Runaway’ was released and in April went to #1 on the chart. Over his career he recorded for several labels including Big Top, Amy, Berlee (his own label), and Liberty among others. Shannon signed with Liberty in 1966. During Shannon's Liberty Records tenure, success on a national scale eluded him, but he scored several "regional" U.S. chart hits. This 1968 release was a re-make of the old Cascades hit and his last for the label. It failed to chart that year. Record is in M- condition. Postage will be paid by purchaser.
