Description
I'm offering the soundtrack album of "Heavy Metal" released in 1981 by Full Moon and Asylum Records. This is Elmer Bernstein's instrumental score. And a test pressing pressed at Columbia Record Productions, Santa Maria, CA. In stereo. Length: 12 songs. Catalog #5E-547. Matrix reads 5E-547 CSM. In an all white jacket and plain white sleeve. I've owned this since it came out and have never played. This has been stored upright in my album rack in my home. I worked in the entertainment business here in Hollywood and got a lot of records for free. Sometimes duplicates. It's in very good condition. The jacket is in fairly good condition, you'll notice in the gallery one side has a stain and light spots. The back is in mint condition. The all white sleeve inside is in excellent condition. Included is a publicity photo printed on an 8½"x11" sheet of paper (seen below) and history of the film on two sheets. These are free - not part of the listing price. Heavy Metal is a 1981 Canadian adult animated science fantasy anthology film directed by Gerald Potterton (in his director debut) and produced by Ivan Reitman and Leonard Mogel, who also was the publisher of Heavy Metal magazine, which was the basis for the film. Unusual for the time, an LP recording of Elmer Bernstein's score was released alongside the soundtrack in 1981, and it featured the composer's first use of the ondes Martenot, an instrument which became a trademark of Bernstein's later career. The score was performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with the London Voices and Jeanne Loriod on the ondes Martenot. © Wikipedia Someone has uploaded the album to youtube if you want to give it a listen before purchasing.
