Heifetz-Piatigorsky Concerts RCA SORIA Stereo 3 LP BOX LDS 6159 Rare Near Mint!. Condition is "Used".
As I write, the Brahms Sextet in G is on the turntable, a piece with which I was unfamiliar, and yet it is an immediate joy. The fact that the LP is in virtually perfect condition with near silent background noise and no clicks or pops makes this a gift for a good turntable and system - a real showpiece by the greatest musicians of their generation. Exquisite!
The Matrix Numbers could hardly be better:
Two of the LPs are marked 1S/2S and only the Schubert Quintet is marked 3S/5S. These numbers make this an early pressing, valuable and collectable. And remember you are getting three exquisite albums.
In the 1960s, RCA decided that if people collected leather bound books in editions meant to be heirlooms, why not create a similar superior edition of their finest recordings, not in leather, but in Ultra Deluxe packaging and with superior notes and illustrations. Thus was the SORIA SERIES born and each is indeed things of Beauty.
