Description

Helen Merrill LP EMARCY MG 36107 "Merrill At Midnight" Issued in 1957 DG White Border version. 

Cover is VG+ (above average) with light even shelf wear. Back cover has the usual yellowing and light soiling. 1" bottom seam split from the LP mouth back. No creased corners, writing or stickers. 
Record is Excellent with trace wear. Excellent gloss and shine. No writing or stickers.

With Hal Mooney and his orchestra. Harold Mooney, who arranged all the songs on these two February, 1957, sessions, scored for Helen with her need for spontaneity in mind. Except for the pianist, the rhythm section was the same on both dates - drummer Sol Gubin; bassist Milt Hinton; and guitarist Billy Mure. Alternating pianists were Buddy Weed and Maran McPartland. (Marian can be heard on If You Go, If Love Were All, Easy Come Easy Go, The Things We Did Last Summer.

Tracks A1, A3, A5, B2, B5 recorded Feb. 21, 1957; A2, A4, B1, B3, B4 recorded Feb. 27, 1957; both dates in New York.
