Description
Rare Jimi Hendrix/Band of Gypsys LP recorded live on New Year's Eve 1970 at Bill Graham's Fillmore East in New York. The rare feature of this album is the withdrawn sleeve which depicts Hendrix, Buddy Miles and Billy Cox as puppets.
Tracks include one of Hendrix' finest live performances, of Machine Gun. This stereo album is the only official live recording sanctioned by Jimi Hendrix.
Side 1: Who Knows (9m34), Machine Gun (12m38).
Side 2: Changes (5m11), Power of Soul (6m55), Message to Love (5m24), We Gotta Live Together (5m51)
The cover is in excellent condition, with minimal wear along the bottom edge and on the top and bottom tips of the opening edge. The spine is near perfect, the back cover is very lightly scuffed at the bottom where it has been slid out from between other albums.
On to the vinyl. There is minimal spindle wear, aside from this the labels are clean. On Side 1, there are three pops about halfway through Who Knows. The rest is crystal clear, no background noise or crackles. Side 2 has two pops in track two, aside from this is completely free of crackles or background noise.
This is such a great album - because the album's live, you can just close your eyes and imagine you're there!
The owner of this LP and all the others I list, was really meticulous, particularly in the care of the vinyl. I am sure you'll be delighted with your purchase.
