HERB WEIDOEFT'S FAMOUS ORCHESTRA Virginia Blues/Persian Nights NORDSKOG 3004 V+ to E- a few light scratches. Although, because of its rarity, this record is not mentioned in the jazz discographies, "Virginia Blues" is a fine early jazz side.
I am auctioning 1920’s 78 rpm jazz and hot-dance records from a collection which started almost 40 years ago.
Grading a record is subjective and the usual grading system is often misused.
However I believe that my grading is conservative and these are my standards (I do not use N and N-):
E+ An unworn record, shiny - mint.
E Still unworn although not quite as sparkling as an E+ but it plays just as good.
E- Visible but virtually inaudible traces of wear.
V+ More wear becoming more audible but still a very good record.
V Quite worn but still a servicable copy.
V- Very worn and much noise as a result but playable.
G My lowest grading – really very worn; a wallhanger.
All marks such as scuffs, scratches, cracks, digs etc. are separately mentioned.
